The First Sale
After eight months of waiting, that first $20 customer reinvigorated my dedication to product improvement.
I launched my monitoring tool and waited. And waited. And waited.
Eight months. That's how long it took to get my first paying customer. Eight months of wondering if anyone would ever find value in what I'd built.
Then it happened. A notification: someone had signed up for a $20/month plan.
Twenty dollars. It wasn't going to make me rich. But it meant everything. Someone, somewhere, looked at what I'd built and decided it was worth paying for.
That single sale reinvigorated me. I dove back into development with renewed energy, adding features, fixing bugs, making the product better for that one customer - and hopefully the next.
If you're building something and waiting for that first sale: keep going. It might take longer than you expect, but when it comes, it's worth it.
